Weston can be found in Fairfield County, Connecticut. With a population of over 10,000 people, Weston is one of the most affluent towns the United States, and one of the wealthiest communities in the world.

As a very close community, Weston depends on the residents to come together and volunteer. The citizens of Weston devote many hours to serving on town boards, in the Volunteer Fire Department, and on the EMS squad. History of Weston

In 1787 the North Fairfield parish was created from the Town of Fairfield. When North Fairfield split into two towns in 1845, Weston was created. Farmers in Weston grew apples, onions, and potatoes, and soon many mills were built. Weston never had any railroads built through their town like the many surrounding them. This hurt their nonagricultural business and Weston’s population dropped dramatically. The community began to grow again when writers, artists, and actors moved there from New York and the Merritt Parkway began construction.

Weston Parks & Recreation

Weston has devoted almost a quarter of their town for open space use. Known for their purchase of conservation restrictions, Weston offers a plethora of recreational land such as Devil’s Den Preserve, Aspetuck Land Trust, and more.

Bisceglie Park
This 53 acre park provides active recreation and contains picnic facilities, a swimming pond, playground, and a fitness trail.

Devil’s Den Preserve
Devil’s Den is located on a 1,765 acre nature preserve with historic features and over 20 miles of hiking trails. The Lucius Pond Ordway/Devil's Den Preserve is the Connecticut Chapter's largest contiguous preserve and the largest tract of protected land in densely developed Fairfield County. Its patchwork of woodlands, wetlands, rock ledges and series of north-south ridges and valleys woven with streams and swamps make the Devil’s Den ideal for passive outdoor activity such as hiking and bird watching.

Katharine Ordway Preserve
Located on 60 acres of land, the Katharine Ordway Preserve features three miles of hiking trails and arboretum.

Aspetuck Land Trust
Aspetuck Land Trust, Inc. is a non-profit Connecticut Corporation that is devoted to preserving open space and the natural resources of Easton, Fairfield, Weston and Westport for the benefit of the public. Through generous gifts of land, continued efforts of volunteers, and cooperation from town agencies, the Aspetuck Land Trust has preserved over 1,700 acres of land, which will be maintained in a natural state in perpetuity.

Weston Attractions

Weston offers many fun and educational opportunities for their residents. Whether you would like to spend a day at the zoo, fair or one of the many museums, Weston has something to please everyone.

In the spring and fall, you will be able to find many church fairs, and at harvest time you can participate in the Grange Fair. Every Saturday morning from April to October, the Weston Women’s League sponsors a Farmer’s Market. The Memorial Day Fair is put on by the Hurlbutt Elementary School PTO and provides a weekend of fun and games, complete with the Weston Volunteer Fire Department’s Memorial Day Parade.

The Barnum Museum
Located in Bridgeport, The Barnum Museum is committed to the preservation and interpretation of their industrial and social history. The museum is an outstanding educational resource for students of all ages.

Beardsley Zoo
Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport provides a wonderfully wild experience for people of all ages. The Beardsley Zoo has been Connecticut’s only zoo for over 80 years.

The Discovery Museum

Maritime Aquarium

Rolnick Observatory
The Rolnick Observatory is located at the highest point in Westport. The observatory dome rests on top of an old NIKE radar tower.
